The major CAMEL+Cnect update we hinted at last month is almost here. Early next month we’re planning to release the CAMEL+Cnect 3D Builder – a new web-based way to build your project geometry visually and send it straight into CAMEL+.
Until now, getting geometry into CAMEL+ has meant either extracting it from a Revit model with CAMEL+Cnect, or measuring and entering each surface in manually. The 3D Builder adds a third option for the many projects that start life as a PDF or a sketch. Drop in a floor plan, trace your rooms, and watch the model take shape in 3D as you go.
- Import a PDF floor plan and calibrate the scale, then trace rooms straight over the top
- Fast window and shading entry – drop windows onto any external wall, and apply shading schemes such as overhangs, fins and reveals. Model nearby buildings and have the adjacent shading automatically applied.
- Automatic adjacency detection works out which walls are internal/external and which are next to unconditioned spaces for automatic partition entry
- Live 3D preview of your building as you draw
- One-click export into CAMEL+ – ready to continue on with your load calculation
To celebrate the launch, the 3D Builder will be free for everyone to try until 30 June, so you can put it to work on a real project and see how it fits your workflow.
